CURVALINEA

To catch a mountain. Could it be done? We did.

This amazing desert hillside tumbled down unimpeded when I first set foot in this undefiled setting. Whatever I did to it, I resolved to keep it that way, and to bring it in even closer through reflections. Look at the peak reflected in the water’s surface. There was a big horn sheep and an eagle spotted on that hilltop.

A sweeping curved vessel for the water would be carved into the hill, to echo the lines of the home. Terraced patios and the embrace of a sensual seat wall that held back the land…that was the invitation. A rebar fence was in order. They disappear, seamlessly.

A color palette born of the site came forth, such that even the glass of the spa took on the amber hues of the desert foliage. Several ironwood trees, delivered by crane, anchored the space and were reflected from key vantage points within the home.

An arbor structure projected outward, framing the view of the superstitions from the spa and dining area, bringing an architectural edge to the open space, that remains open and free.

LET'S TALK ABOUT YOUR NEW OUTDOOR LIVING SPACE.
