SPLENDID SOPHISTICATE

Teaming up with Interior Designer Ashlyn Pohl, this courtyard pool at her personal residence became the central feature of her home. The pool already in place, we were called in to make the frame. The pool lead your eye to a wall and a roofline beyond, and lacked a focal point. Our solution was to create an architectural arbor, to screen the roofline and frame the end of the room. Weaving in lawn with stepping stone panels, gave textural interest and organic relief in a confined space that would otherwise have been paving right up to the foundations. In a similar way, the spa and firepit area also needed to be made intimate, so a smaller arbor was used to create the edge of space for the spa backdrop. The interior courtyard wall fountain was the finishing touch to an elegant space and home.
